Mozilla Gujarat in association with ComExpo Cyber Security Pvt. Ltd. and the Computer Society of India – Ahmedabad Chapter, jointly organized Logout – Gujarat’s 1st Cyber Awareness Conference on 22nd January 2017, Sunday. The conference was jam packed with over 600 people attending the event where experts from cyber security filed educated audience with various cyber crime threats, internet issues and safety tips.

Logout was attended by 600+ students, tech professionals and netizens from around the Gujarat state.
Well-known cyber experts and speakers including Hon. Rakshit Tandon, Col. Vineet Kumar, Mr. Jayesh Solanki and Ms. Ruzan Khambatta spoke over various cyber threats, cyber crimes and educated the audience with various ways to protect their online identities. Mr. Viral Parmar and Mr. Kushank Gohil of ComExpo Cyber spoke over the event highlights.
Eminent cyber security expert Mr. Rakshit Tandon spoke about various cyber crimes and modes tactics used by cyber criminals and educated audience with online safety tips and cyber laws of India. He also insisted on creating cyber awareness for women’s safety; especially in the context of Facebook related privacy issues and presented case studies of cyber crimes related to internet finance & banking frauds, Facebook privacy issues and harassment to girls and also explained some of the most important clauses of the Cyber Laws of India.
Another cyber expert Col. Vineet Kumar, Founder & Chairman National Anti-Hacking Group spoke about tactics used by hackers to commit phone hacking. He also gave an interactive presentation and explained models used by cyber criminals to commit online banking and ATM related frauds.
Mr. Jayesh Solanki – Chairman of Computer Society of India, Ahmedabad Chapter introduced the audience with the awareness campaigns and other work being carried by CSI. He also spoke about the growing needs of such more campaigns by Public-Private partnership to raise the cyber awareness in the state and the country. In addition, he told that with the government putting focus on Digital India campaign, there is an ever growing need of public-private programs to raise awareness among general public regarding internet related issues such as cyber crime, online privacy, online banking frauds and digital safety.
Ms. Ruzan Khambatta – A well known social-entrepreneur activist working for women’s safety talked about various initiatives that are being carried out by NGOs, Police department and government department to tackle women’s safety issues. Ms. Khambatta then introduced public with – Police Heart – 1091 – a social activity that is carried on by government, police department and the NGOs to stop online crimes against women and to raise their safety issues.
The event was a big success with many local print and TV media channels covering the event.
